The approach: Mike Geary takes the approach that the best way toget six pack abs is to reduce your body fat. No argument here…There is simply no other way to get the abs you want. The schedule requires only 3 days a week, and you should be out of there in less than an hour.
If that sounds too light, it isn’t. Short intense workouts are optimal. If you hit a point where you start to over train, your weight loss will stall. I am not sure exactly why, but I have seen this over and over. It’s much like what happens when you restrict calories too much.
Geary’s program advocates multi-joint, compound exercises for maximum results. This is for burning fat, and it’s the most effective way to workout. He also advocates high intensity intervals for added benefit. If you aren’t already a little fit, be careful not to overdo these. Just follow the instructions provided by Geary and you shouldn’t have any problems.
As to the ab exercises, Geary presents over 20 different exercises to target every aspect of your abs. I’m glad to see he also has exercises for the transverse abdominals, which are often neglected in other programs…For women post pregnancy, these types of exercises are important for reestablishing the strength of your core and pelvic girdle.
Six Pack Abs Diet: Geary has a complete nutritional program. The program is balanced and healthy. While protein is recommended as important, it does not rely on a high protein/low carb diet. However, expect to eat vegetables and fruits, as they are recommended – my approval on this – and part of the meal plans.
This is a good program. But, to be effective, you need to follow the program. You will definitely get out of this, what you put into it.
