5 Tips For Losing Tummy Fat

1. Get into a high-fiber diet. High fiber foods tend to be lower in calories and give you the feeling of fullness due to the added volume (bulk) of the food. A high-fiber diet will also help prevent the accumulation of visceral fat which, which is the fat underneath the surface deep inside the abdomen. An accumulation of visceral fat makes your tummy bulge a bit. Switch to oats, wheat bread, brown rice or even red rice. These are high-fiber food which you can enjoy.

2. A diet with high protein content is good. Eating a lot of protein will promote muscle formation instead of fat. Plus, added muscle burns extra calories through out the day. And, in case you are worried about bulking up, you shouldn’t be. Swap fat for muscle and you’ll actually appear much leaner. The reason: A pound of muscle takes up a lot less space than a pound of fat.

Now, there’s no need to go on the Atkins diet. Just incorporate a serving of lean protein at every meal. Eat lean meat such as eggs, turkey, salmon, fish and chicken breast are good choices.

3. Have an exercise plan to match your lifestyle. Start with a moderate daily exercise such as a long walk, if you haven’t done any exercising in a while. Also, resistance training has been shown to be very effective in helping people lose their tummy fat. Plus, it promotes strength, improved range of motion, and most importantly it help boost your metabolism.

After this, you may want to add a little abdominal exercise like crunches, sit-ups and the like. These may not really cause you to lose a lot of calories, but they help in firming up the area.

4. Drink lots of water. Water cleans up your system and, unknown to many people, even moderate dehydration can have a negative effect on your metabolism. Drink at least 8 glasses of water each day. Also, water can save you lots of calories. Simply exchange your normal calorie containing drinks such as softdrinks, juices, and sugary drinks for zero calorie water.

Here’s another trick. Drinking water before a meal can help you feel fuller so that you will eat less food. Studies showed that people who drink water right before their meals ate approximately 75 calories less than those who didn’t drink water.

5. Wait for the results. This is one tip which is the simplest but most people find it hard to do – be patient. You probably want results fast, but the body is a funny thing. You can lose a lot of weight, then your progress may stall. Just keep at it, work the plan. The wost thing that can happen is that you stop in the middle because you get discouraged.

Your dream of having a flat tummy is not “unreachable”, in fact it can be done by you! You just need to follow these easy tips and have all the determination need in order for you in to lose all that tummy fat. There is also nothing wrong in asking for professional advice if you have the means to do so. It is never too late to engage in fat loss programs, just work your plan you’ll get that flat tummy that you are longing for.
